Pat Mroczka bio picture

Pat Mroczka

Patricia has resided in Downers Grove Illinois for over 22 years. The quaint picturesque homes of Downers Grove and the businesses on downtown Main Street have inspired and influenced her style, broadening the scope of subjects she paints.

Pat studied art at the Sinsinawa Dominican Center near Dubuque for 4 years, then at the Art Institute of Chicago for 2 more years. She has an Associates Degree in Architecture and has taken numerous art classes at the College of DuPage.

She was asked by the director of Indian Boundary YMCA to complete 12 renderings to obtain funds for their new addition. More recently she was commissioned by the Village of Downers Grove to complete 5 renderings in celebration of their 175th anniversary. Pat’s customer base continues to grow, and she enjoys many repeat customers. She has shown at various annual street art fairs in the area.

Many home construction professionals prefer the artistic quality and technique of a hand drawn watercolor or pen/ink, rather than a sterile photo-realistic computer rendering to show or advertize their new homes. Several communities have hired her do the paintings for their home tours over the past 22 years. She has also done paintings for the AAUW scholarship fundraiser in Hinsdale Illinois for the past three years.

Pat’s love of architecture and gardening are now coming together to form a new phase in her talent and subject matter to the delight her clients. She has been commissioned to do paintings of over 100 homes for realtors and homeowners, and has also completed an inventory of florals and paintings of children.
“Each new painting is an exciting challenge, and I always look forward to the next one.” Watercolor is her first love, but she also works in acrylics and oils.

Pat has recently joined the DuPage Art League and the LaGrange Art League and Gallery. She is a teacher of art techniques using acrylics and watercolor for children and adults at the Brigantine Art Gallery where her works are on permanent display. She also shows at the Clipper Ship Gallery in New Buffalo, Michigan.
