Nature artist and oil painter Don Walvatne is inspired by the animal life and landscapes of the Upper Midwest, Canada and the western United States. Though almost entirely self taught, Don attended classes at the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Specializing in small originals?mainly songbirds and waterfowl?Don has won numerous awards and honors over three decades of painting. His originals hang in private collections in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia and Europe. Working from his Minneapolis studio, he has built a loyal following. ?I place a high priority on my customers and want to ensure their satisfaction,? Don says. Their allegiance is evident by the high number of repeat buyers.

Don was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and now lives and paints in his home studio in Minneapolis.
