The Mastertouch Canvas adds a unique beauty and special value to Mr. Vickerys prints. It is the result of a process in which a signed and numbered limited edition print is transferred to quality canvas. The finished canvas is cherished by people who love his works and valued by collectors due to its limited use
The Mastertouch process was first developed to eliminate the need for glass and its inherent reflection and to give the print a striking resemblance to the original oil painting. The colors are more defined with this process and the single dimension lithograph print takes on a three dimensional look. There appears to be greater depth and more intensity to the colors and the print has a unique response to light.
A print transformed by the Mastertouch process is not a copy. When, for example, the signed and limited edition print #423 is sent to canvas....print #423 now becomes Mastertouch print number 423. The original print is sacrificed in the process and the edition size remains the same.
During this process, the entire paper portion of the print is dissolved leaving the colors in suspension and transferring them into the canvas. The surface is then sealed with a protective acrylic finish. Because only the inks are transferred, the original signature and number or artist proof designation (which are in pencil on the bottom border of the print) are lost. Before the process begins, the artist actually signs the signature and the designation in the lower portion of the print itself, guaranteeing its authenticity as a limited edition print. The Mastertouch canvas is then framed with linens and molding with no need for glass.
