New release of a Christmas Tree Schooner December 2006

This painting takes us way North to where the trees were cut and loaded onto the Christmas Ships. Here they work in the snowstorm to fill the ship and ready her for her trip down lake Michigan to Chicago. Time is of the essence so as to miss the icy storms on the lake. The kind of storm that in 1912 ...took her down.

The very talented artist Tadeusz Seidel spent the last 10 years of Mr Vickery's life with him ... painting, studying and listening to the stories; one of which was Mr. Vickerys story of painting the Christmas Tree Ship leaving upper Michigan to become the fourth in his series. He was unable to work that into reality. Here, Mr. Seidel honors his friend and mentor by painting that which Mr. Vickery spoke of and had hoped to do. The legends continues.

Depending on the amount of interest generated in this painting, Mr.Seidel may take it to print following a tradition begun with Mr. Vickery's first three renderings of this Christmas season favorite, the Christmas Tree Schoooner, the Arrival and the Rouse Simmons shown below.
